Welcome 2010!

Happy New Year! Wow, it is hard for me to believe it is already 2010! We had a busy and blessed holiday season and are now looking forward to 2010 being a fantastic year! I have never been the type to "wish away" a season of my life, but I was ready for a fresh start after 2009!

2009 brought about a lot of uncertainty for our family, but at the same time, it gave me a fresh perspective on what is really important in my life. Although many things in 2009 we topsy-turvy, there is one constant that I know will continue into 2010 is God's faithfulness.

I have been asked by a couple of friends and family members if I am still blogging. The answer is YES, but with some major technical difficulties! We have a 2001 model computer with very limited memory on it. A few months ago, we noticed that our computer had such little memory that we couldn't even log-in to certain websites and such...this included blog spot! The man at Best Buy basically laughed at our little computer, but we were not in a position to by a new one, so we we are just pressing on. About a month ago, our computer completely crashed....I think it was desperately trying to tell us that it's work on earth is done! :)

Our sweet and technically savvy neighbor Frank came to the rescue and restored our computer... at least for now. Unfortunately, we can't find our photo sharing software to re-install, so I am unable to include any pictures on our blog. Once I do, I will back date everything, so you'll have to view older posts to see the highlights of August-December! Here's a brief rundown!

We did have a great rest of our summer, a wonderful fall, and are in the midst of a frosty winter! Both Paxson and Gracie Myers love attending their weekday school, and are as active and as imaginative as ever! The only problem is, is that they are growing-up way too fast...I wish I could press "pause" and just savor each and every thing they say and do.

I have been very busy at work this year, I am back in the classroom with 23 darlin' 3rd graders. This school year has been a year full of changes and lots of growing pains within our school, but I can almost see the finish line as we head into our 2nd semester!

As many of you know, Bill was laid-off from the bank back in June. He stayed busy for a couple of months doing odd-jobs for our families as he went on several job interviews. He had 3 very promising interviews with a medical supply distributor here in town around the holidays, but found out a couple of weeks ago, that he did not get the job. We were both really upset about it for a variety of reasons, because we felt like this could have been the right job for him. We continue to find great comfort in knowing that so many of our friends and family members are praying for not just any ol' job to come along, but for the perfect job for him. Bill has so long desired to get into either the medical or pharmaceutical sales field, that he just doesn't want to go back into banking at this point.

As a wife and mother, it has been difficult for me to become the provider for our family. I am so thankful for a job that I do enjoy and for our parents who so willingly continue to watch Paxson and Gracie Myers a couple of days each week! Although being a working mama isn't something I ever envisioned for myself, I can see that this is exactly where God wants me to be right now. As I told some of my close friends recently, is that although this has been a difficult "season" of my life, I can testify to God's goodness and his provision for our family during this time. Bill and I are both aware that there are many other families and individuals that are facing far worse struggles than we are.

So with that being said, we are really excited about this new year! In the words of Paxson, I'll give 2010 a "Whoo Hoo!"

Enjoy your week!
Love,
Erin
