SPWS Orientation 2008

Paxson is returning to Sharon Presbyterian Weekday School this year and he will be in the younger 3's class. He's super excited and is really looking forward to playing with his friends this year! Today each class had a tea party while the parents went to orientation. He seemed to really like meeting his new teachers!
Daddy and Paxson before school.

When I arrived to pick Paxson up, this is where I found him...in the beauty parlor center! Bill didn't think this was funny at all and he reminded both Mommy and Paxson that we he does not go to the beauty parlor, but the barber shop!

I guess we'll take this as a hint...if our son can curl his hair with a curling iron, his hair must be too long!

It really is special to have Paxson at Sharon for weekday school. This is the church where Paxson's great-grandparents attend, and where his Pops grew-up going to. Mommy also went to Mother's Morning Out here when she was his same age! Our family has a lot of history here at this church, so it is a blessing to see another generation at Sharon Presbyterian!

Paxson's 3rd Birthday Party!

On Saturday August 23rd, our front yard turned into a construction zone! Paxson wanted to invite all of his friends to our house for a "worker-man" party. Thanks to Uncle Ben and Uncle Wes, we managed to get a real bobcat and lots of smocks from Home Depot! Pops also made each guest their own hammer which Meme personalized! Bop and Pop Pop and Aunt Chris and Aunt Claudine were so sweet to help us run early morning errands to make everything complete! Paxson and his friends all seemed to have a lot of fun, and he's already asking when he gets to have his next party!
Cousin Meredith caught the fly away balloons!

Aunt Chris flew in from CA for the fun event!

Paxson loved his cardboard house and was so sad when the rain the following week made it collapse!

...but his good friend Sadie beat him to it! This moment was priceless!

"Happy Birthday" take two! We relit the candle and sang all over again!

When Uncle Wes started up the bobcat, some of the kids didn't like it. Paxson was quick to console Laurel!

The bobcat demolition was cut short due to tears!

Paxson turned 3 years old today! When we were expecting Paxson, people told us that time would just fly by, but I don't think either of us really realized how quickly this would happen. I almost cannot wrap my mind around the fact that he's already three years old! Paxson is so full of life, energy, and a natural curiosity for things around him. We're always on our toes with him!

Both Paxson and Gracie Myers were in Concord on the morning of his birthday. Bill and I were so anxious to see them both that evening, you'd think that they had been gone for several weeks instead of two nights! Bop and Pop Pop woke Paxson up with lots of blue balloon (his favorite color) and presents! Later they drove to Charlotte where we had the grand parents over and Aunt Claudine for dinner and a Backyardigans cake!

The Birthday Boy!

What a fun way to wake up! This is the same crib that Bill and his two sisters slept in!

This was the first birthday where Paxson seemed to actually know what to do! He had no problem opening his presents!

This is the birthday hat from Pops. We all have to wear it on our birthdays and have our pictures taken in it...SILLY!
